In 2000,
Laura
Zimmer-Tamakashi and I organized the session: "Public Faces, Public Responsibility: Anthropology and the World Wide Web."
for the annual meeting of the American Anthropological Association [San Francisco,
CA, November 15-19, 2000]. My contribution to that session, "Portals to the people. Marketing Anthropology on the
Internet," discussed how anthropologists could use the Internet to
get out the message.
Putting words into actions in 2003, I created the
iAnthropology.org website and the Internet Anthropology
web ring as a vehicle for getting out those messages. |
